- How to mix Milk Paint: pour powder into water. It should be a 1:1 ratio. Then stir the solution for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds test your paint to see if you reached the right consistency that you wanted to achieve. If it is what you desire then you are ready to paint!
- Tip: consistently mix your paint from the bottom of the container because pigments tend to settle at the bottom and you don't want to get color variation.
- How to get a chippy look: you can either use Hemp Oil or Beeswax to create a resistant on your project. Then apply your Milk Paint product. Don't over work it and try to use only one coat. The paint should separate almost immediately. this is called the resist technique. Let the paint dry for 30 minutes You may need to take some sand paper to loosen up some of the paint for the full effect. To seal the paint use the Clear Tough Coat, so it won't chip any further.
- How to achieve a smooth finish: clean and do a light sanding of your project's surface. Mix your milk paint. It's typical to do 1-3 coats of Milk Paint depending on what color you use. Need to wait 20-30 minutes between coats. Then use the Stain and Finishing Oil by Fusion Paint. You only need 1 coat of this oil to seal the Milk Paint and bring the color to life.
